MOTs Arranged in Market Drayton

Leave your car with us and we'll take care of the MOT for you — including any repairs it needs afterwards.

How it works

Revive Performance is not a DVSA authorised testing station, so MOT testing is not carried out at our workshop. We arrange the test for you at a nearby authorised station instead, which means you only have to drop the car off once — and if it needs work, we can take care of that too.

  1. 1

    Book in

Get in touch with your registration and we'll find a date that suits you.

  2. 2

    Leave the vehicle with us

Drop the car at our workshop at Park Farm, Market Drayton and leave the keys with us.

  3. 3

We take it to the authorised station

We drive your vehicle to a nearby DVSA authorised test station, roughly ten minutes away.

  4. 4

    The test is carried out

The authorised test station carries out the MOT test on your vehicle.

  5. 5

    Pass — we call you

If it passes, we let you know it's ready and arrange a time for you to collect.

  6. 6

Fail — we explain what's needed

If it fails, we explain what has failed and why, and quote for the repairs before any work is carried out.

What an MOT checks

An MOT is an annual roadworthiness and safety test set out by the DVSA. It looks at the condition of the vehicle on the day of the test — it isn't a service, and it doesn't tell you how long parts will last.

  • Brakes, including performance and condition
  • Tyres, wheels and tread depth
  • Steering and suspension
  • Lights, indicators and reflectors
  • Seat belts and seats
  • Windscreen, wipers, washers and mirrors
  • Exhaust, emissions and fuel system
  • Bodywork and structure for corrosion or sharp edges
  • Horn, registration plates and vehicle identification

How long it takes

The test itself normally takes around 45 minutes to an hour. Because your vehicle has to travel to the authorised station and back, we ask you to leave it with us for the day where possible. If repairs are needed afterwards, we'll give you a realistic timescale once we've seen the result.

If your vehicle fails

A fail isn't the end of the world. We'll go through the failure items with you, explain which are safety-critical and what they involve, then quote for the repairs. No work is carried out until you've approved it.

Retest requirements and charges depend on the circumstances of the failure and the MOT testing station. We'll explain the options if your vehicle doesn't pass.

MOT repairs

Because we're a full mechanical workshop, most MOT failures can be repaired here — brakes, suspension, steering, lights, exhausts, corrosion-related work and more. That means one drop-off, one collection and one garage dealing with it all.

Repair costs depend on the vehicle and the parts needed, so we quote per job rather than publishing prices. Contact us for a quote.

Booking your MOT

Send us your registration and the month your MOT is due, and we'll arrange the test for you. If it's already expired, mention that too — we may be able to collect the vehicle rather than you driving it.

You can have the test done up to a month minus a day before the current one expires without losing the renewal date, so it's worth booking early.

MOT questions

How long does an MOT take?
The test itself usually takes around 45 minutes to an hour. Because we take your vehicle to a nearby authorised test station and bring it back, we normally ask you to leave the car with us for the day.
What happens if my car fails its MOT?
We explain exactly what has failed and why, in plain English. We can then quote for the repairs, and nothing is carried out until you have agreed to it.
Can I drive my car if the MOT has expired?
No. Driving without a valid MOT is against the law, apart from driving to a pre-booked test or to a garage for repairs. If your MOT has run out and you are not sure what to do, get in touch and we can talk through the options, including collection where available.
How early can I get my car tested?
You can have the test carried out up to one month minus a day before your current MOT expires and keep the same renewal date, so there is no benefit in leaving it until the last minute.
Is the MOT carried out at your workshop?
No. Revive Performance is not a DVSA authorised testing station. You leave the vehicle with us and we take it to a nearby authorised test station, around ten minutes away, then return it to our workshop. Any repairs needed are carried out by us once you have approved them.
